Overview

RPM doesn’t develop properties. It’s potentially the only thing they don’t do in the property industry. They do, however, provide market intelligence and advisory to those who actually do the development. Claiming to be industry-leading experts, RPM needed a digital experience that matched its brand positioning.

Challenge

A key challenge was to make clear who RPM is and what they do. The digital presence of the brand did not speak to its level of prestige and experience. Simply, it did not convey they were industry leaders. With a broad offering of services and multiple user groups, a primary task was understanding who their target audiences were in order to create an IA that met their varying needs. The existing site was content heavy with an overwhelming amount of information interspersed with data. Complementing the IA design, a content strategy was implemented alongside.

Outcome

A number of stakeholder interviews were conducted to deepen our teams understanding of the different divisions within RPM. This formed the basis of constructing an IA that would facilitate information discovery for the user. The objective was to enable a user to discover the necessary information within a few clicks.

Conveying the breadth of experience and the fact that RPM is a leader in the industry formed the foundation of creative execution. Drawing inspiration directly from architecture, the site follows a Swiss-style grid and design system where a clean and minimal aesthetic was embraced.

The display of data needed to be visually interesting and engaging. Aligning with our team's content strategy, data was to have the appearance of being alive. We approached this concept through animated infographics and motion design.
